Put a Bird on that Tree! with Erin Furimsky

Tuesday, 2 sessions
Dec 1, 8
6:30 PM-9 PM

In this creative 2-week workshop, students will learn to make holiday ornaments or wall hangings to give as a gift or hang in their home year-round.

Students will be taught to roll low fire white clay slabs, cut out shapes, and then add details such as texture, glaze, and decoration using transfer and carving and glazing techniques. In addition to birds, a variety of shapes will be available, and students will be able to create up to 5 ornaments, and have fun while doing it!

After the first night of the workshop, we will fire your pieces for you. You will come back the following week to add color with underglazes and glazes. You will be able to pick up your finished pieces 1 weeks later.

All materials and tools provided. This workshop is suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced ceramicists.

Does not include a shelf at the MCAC and access to open studio hours. Guest registration allowed for this option.

Mission Statement: We encourage and promote the appreciation, study, cultivation, development, and practice of art for the benefit of all the people, cultures and communities of McLean County.
