This six-week class will keep things low and flat, focusing on the art of creating small dishes, plates, and a serving platter. Throughout the session, we will explore both slab hand building techniques and wheel throwing to develop a range of functional forms for the table.

A novice might assume that plates are among the easiest forms to make, but ceramic artists know they can be some of the most particular and challenging pieces to master. From warping and trimming to achieving elegant proportions and smooth surfaces, these seemingly simple forms demand attention and skill.

Join Erin as we uncover the secrets of these elusive flat forms and create beautiful pieces designed to elevate the presentation of food and gatherings around the table.

All materials and tools provided. This class is suitable for intermediate to advanced ceramicists.
