2 Teapots in 2 Days with Erin Furimsky

Friday and Saturday, 2 sessions
June 12 & 13
1:00-5:00 PM

Join Erin for a creative two days exploring the beauty and balance of the teapot! Over two afternoons, you’ll dive into the process of designing and building a functional teapot from start to finish — learning how to throw or hand-build body forms, craft lids and spouts that pour smoothly, and add handles that feel just right in your hand.

Through demonstration, instruction, and plenty of studio time, you’ll discover how to bring together form and function to create two teapots. All the parts will come together while thinking about proportion, surface design, and what makes a truly successful teapot. We will have the goal of creating a piece that pours well and delights the eye.

All clay and basic tools are provided. Bisque firing is included; glazing and final firing options will be discussed during the workshop. Fundamental throwing skills are needed for this workshop.

All materials and tools provided. This class is suitable for intermediate to advanced ceramicists.

Mission Statement: We encourage and promote the appreciation, study, cultivation, development, and practice of art for the benefit of all the people, cultures and communities of McLean County.
