C3 Let's do it Again with Erin Furimsky

Tuesday,
6 sessions

Jan. 13, 20, 27, Feb. 3, 10, 17
  6:30-9:00 PM

This is a 6-week class open to intermediate to advanced and can be hand building or throwing

In this class students will learn the process and techniques for creating multiples of the same ceramic form. You can pick the form you focus on. It could range from a grouping of cups, mugs, bowls, or plates, and cylindrical forms like vases or pitchers. The goal is to make series of objects that are similar or the same that visually work together. We will use measuring tool for throwing or create your own personal paper templet so you can repeat the form when hand building. These can “match” but creating a “grouping” as a set is also encouraged. In addition to exploring your form, we will look at surface choices and how this impacts the object.

Objectives:
-Learn approaches to creating objects that are the same or similar, including weighing clay and using measuring systems
-Contemplate surface choices that work well with multiples
-You will make 2 series of similar objects through repetition

Intermediate-advanced students only.
Includes a shelf at the MCAC and access to open studio hours.
No guest registration.
