MCAC Director of Development

The Director of Development has the responsibility to ensure MCAC is meeting its mission to McLean County and delivering the resources to accomplish this mission. This position is responsible for creating and implementing a strategic development plan. The Director of Development is also responsible for new member recruitment, existing member relations and renewal, developing individual and institution donors, and is a liaison to the community together with the Executive Director.

Full-time, salaried position within the range of $48,000 to $55,000 based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

-Strategic development and membership planning

-Tactical execution of strategic plans for organization’s development and membership

-Specific focus on developing dynamic new, and maintaining existing, membership relationships

(individual and institutional) through outreach, new initiatives and existing proven programs


-1 to 3 years of development experience as assistant director/manager, director/manager, or related fundraising experience preferred

-Experience working with non-profit organizations

-Operational understanding of development and implementation of a strategic plan

-Independent, self-motivated AND good collaborator

-Excellent strategic planning and management skills essential

-Excellent oral and written communication skills essential

-Gallery or other art institution experience a plus

-Education – BS or BA preferred
