PH4 Painting with Light: Creating Art in Motion with Dave Fulghum

Saturday, 2 sessions
Apr. 18, 25
12:30-3:00 PM

Explore long exposure techniques to “paint” with light and motion for expressive, dreamlike imagery. In this class, we will learn what light painting is through demos using handheld lights, LEDS, and sparklers to create luminous trails. We will review manual exposure, shutter timing, and tripod setup.

Participants will experiment with different light sources and gestures in a darkened space, and practice combining subject movement and camera motion for layered effects. We will discuss how rhythm, color, and spontaneity shape visual emotion

You will leave this class with techniques for creating your own light painting setups at home and developing a personal visual language through movement and illumination.

Please bring your camera with you to class.

Mission Statement: We encourage and promote the appreciation, study, cultivation, development, and practice of art for the benefit of all the people, cultures and communities of McLean County.
