P-9 Collage Creating Workshop

with Jenni Bateman

Wednesday, 1 Session

Mar. 20;

12:30-3 pm

Fee: $35.00 (Non Member)

Interested in sharpening your artistic desires but would rather "paint with scissors"? Then this is your opportunity to build your knowledge of composition while telling your unique story with papers!

Calling all doodlers, drawers, painters, and sketchers! This is designed to merge your travels and life’s mundane into “documentary drawings”. We’ll sketch out preliminary shapes, then add detail with both pens and glazes of watercolor. At the end of your 2 weeks, you’ll have a “working journal” of your line work, doodles, and sketches, and LOTS of notes to help understand the basics of sketching. Together we’ll explore those hard artist’s decisions: WHAT TO PUT IN and WHAT TO LEAVE OUT!

Collage art is largely defined by humor and playfulness between art and reality. In this three hour workshop, you’ll cut, rip, and paste your way to unique works of art as your story unfolds.

Painting not your vibe? Can you cut paper? YES?  So start hoarding images…bring a few pages of a magazine, some ‘junk mailings’, and photos that will help tell your story!

No experience needed!  All Levels welcome!

TRYitOUT!

*Please bring black and white inspirational photos of places you’ve been: perhaps your own backyard, summer in the mountains, or winter by the shore.

 (certainly feel free to bring any supplies you may have and unsure of how to use them).

.

Mission Statement: We encourage and promote the appreciation, study, cultivation, development, and practice of art for the benefit of all the people, cultures and communities of McLean County.
