In September 2024, the McLean County Arts Center took a significant step forward by purchasing two adjacent properties to enhance our programming for years to come. This exciting expansion will allow us to better serve our community and support our mission to promote the arts.
Originally home to a guitar shop and residence, these properties will be completely transformed into a vibrant hub for artists and art lovers. With your support and involvement, we can turn this vision into reality. The renovation of these newly acquired buildings will involve transforming them into vibrant spaces that meet the diverse needs of artists and the community. Here’s what we envision for the renovations:
We plan to create dedicated gallery spaces that will showcase a wide range of artwork, providing local artists with the opportunity to exhibit their work. These galleries will feature rotating exhibitions that celebrate the rich artistic talent within our community.
Our new classrooms will be designed to accommodate a variety of art classes and workshops, from painting and ceramics to enamels and photography. These expanded facilities will provide a more comfortable and inspiring environment for both instructors and students, allowing for even more hands-on learning and creative exploration.
The renovation will include additional event space for community gatherings, performances, and special events. This versatile area will be ideal for hosting art shows, fundraising events, and cultural celebrations, fostering a sense of community and collaboration among artists and art enthusiasts.
We will also incorporate community meeting rooms that can be utilized by local organizations, artists, and community groups. These spaces will encourage collaboration and provide a venue for discussions, workshops, and community meetings, further strengthening our connection with the McLean County community.
We invite you to be a part of this exciting journey. Your involvement will help us create a magical environment at MCAC. Together, we can build a brighter future for the arts in McLean County.
