Your donation will assist us in our continued work to update our facilities and services.

In the past year hired a full-time Director of Education in response to our expanded class offerings and a new part-time Curator. These terrific new team members, Jeremy Langston and Amy Yeager, have been a wonderful addition to our staff!

Our building, designed by famed local architect Arthur Lowe Pillsbury, is one of our most valuable assets.  At more than 115 years of age it is in need of continued loving attention.

In the past year we have repaired and updated a previously unused stairway, added vinyl siding to the wood-clad portion of our building, added a chair lift to our stairway, added security systems for the safety of our visitors, and spent more than five-thousand dollars replacing damaged terra cotta roof tiles. Additionally, we have upgraded classroom storage for all of the classrooms, and greatly improved the shelves for our vast art book library.

Building Projects for 2024

Our exhibition gallery's walls carry the scars of decades of screws, nails, and assorted re-paintings.  As a result, they now look like the surface of the moon.  With your support, we will undertake the project of resurfacing these spaces to bring them back to pristine condition. This will take many weeks and we plan on having our talented contractors work on the repairs in segments, so that we may continue artists exhibitions without significant disruption.

Two years ago we resurfaced the public parking lot on Mulberry.  Our back parking lot is used as much overflow, staff, board, volunteer parking.  It has seen the same issues of decades of heavy use and is in need of significant repair.

With your financial gift, we can continue our excellent programming and serve as proud stewards to this important historic structure.
