N1 Taste of Enameling with Nisa Blackmon

Saturday and Sunday, 2 sessions

Jan. 10, 11

9:00 AM-12:00 PM

Vitreous enamels are ground glass powders that are fused to metal

in a kiln. Enamels are colorful, durable and rich in design opportunities! In this two-day event, students will be introduced to opaque enamels and learn techniques such as sifting, stenciling, sgraffito, adding glass embellishments and kiln-firing, resulting in at least one finished jewelry piece (earrings or pendant) or a small decorative tile. Suitable for those with no prior enameling experience. All tools and materials provided.

Mission Statement: We encourage and promote the appreciation, study, cultivation, development, and practice of art for the benefit of all the people, cultures and communities of McLean County.
