"Top That Off" Ceramic Workshops with Erin Furimsky

Mondays, May 17th & 24th, 2021

6:30-9:00PM

Fee: $75 (Non- Member)

In this 2 session workshop, MCAC instructor Erin Furimsky will discuss various ways to create lids for ceramic forms.

Most lidded objects are functional in nature varying from storage jars, jewelry boxes, covered pots, and bowls. The lids serve a function of preservation and decoration in addition to allowing a form to be sculptural at times. In this workshop, you will learn multiple approaches to making lids. There will be a hands-on component to the class time, but the focus will be on trying the learning techniques and exploring, not creating a finished product. Making a lid for your pot or container doesn’t need to be a complicated process.

With what you learn in this workshop and a little advanced planning, you can add a new form to your pottery-making process. All materials including clay, glazes, tools, Open Studio time and kiln firings included in fee.

Mission Statement: We encourage and promote the appreciation, study, cultivation, development, and practice of art for the benefit of all the people, cultures and communities of McLean County.
