Printmaking Activity!

Tuesday, September 27, 2016

5:30 - 6:30 PM

MCAC Members: Free

Non-Members: $5

The McLean County Arts Center's staff will present a special hands-on printmaking event on Tuesday, September 27 from 5:30 - 6:30 PM. This activity is free to all MCAC members and $5 for non-members. This is an all-ages event; children are welcome to attend with a parent.

MCAC's curator, Claire Hedden, will lead a short tour of the current exhibitions: "40 Years NEW" and "Behind Every Print," which feature prints from Normal Editions Workshop. Learn what a print is, and how the works in this show were created.

Next, MCAC's Education Coordinator, Sarah Sciba, will give a relief printing demonstration on MCAC's printing press (shown above). Participants will be invited to roll ink onto pre-carved linoleum shapes to make their own prints on the press. All supplies are included.

Mission Statement: We encourage and promote the appreciation, study, cultivation, development, and practice of art for the benefit of all the people, cultures and communities of McLean County.
