Have you ever wanted to make your own jewelry, but didn’t know where to start?  Join MCAC Instructor Nisa Blackmon and learn a variety of simple techniques used to make original, creative and well-crafted jewelry using only wire and different types of beads. Students will be taught basic jewelry design and wire-forming methods for making earrings, necklaces and bracelets, using both precious and non-precious metals and a variety of bead types.  At the end of this class, students will have several finished pieces of jewelry, as well as the tools and knowledge to create many more!

No experience is necessary.  Students will purchase a tool and supply kit specifically designed for this class and are welcome to bring any additional beads and jewelry wire they may already have.  They should also bring pencils & paper or a sketchbook for notes and designs.

Mission Statement: We encourage and promote the appreciation, study, cultivation, development, and practice of art for the benefit of all the people, cultures and communities of McLean County.
