This is an introductory course that covers the basic principles of digital photography including equipment selection and image selection,Framing, composition. Emphasis will be placed on exposure control for DSLR digital cameras as well as photographic tools for personal expression, cultural observation and developing the student's artistic voice.
Students need to provide their own DSLR digital camera with manual lenses. Each student needs to bring a copy of an image from their portfolio or their favorite photograph and a frame of their choice.
Instructor Jacalyn Hadley will go over camera functions such as backlighting, sports mode, low light, landscape, portraiture and more. There will be time for indoor practice at the MCAC and outdoor practice along with a time to learn about composition and framing with disposable cameras that are provided by the MCAC.
*Due to Covid-19 the MCAC is no longer providing lunch for all day workshops but you are more than welcome to bring your own drinks, snacks and lunch with you or you can pop out during lunch to dine at one of the lovely restaurants nearby.
