Valentine Print Workshop with Amber Gravett

Saturday, February 13th, 2021

1:00-4:00 PM

Fee: $35 (Non Member)

Come in to the MCAC for some creative Valentine's fun! In this workshop, students will explore making images through custom made stamps and print out their own custom valentines to send to friends and family. Stamps are made by drawing onto a Speedball speedy carve block and cutting away a relief image. Students can make different objects and patterns, and experiment with using different ink colors. Each student will leave with their own unique stamp and multiple prints!

Amber Gravett, Amber was born in Bloomington and graduated from Normal Community High School. She earned an Associates of Art at Heartland Community College and was the first ever recipient of the Joseph E. McCauley scholarship. At Illinois State University she earned a Bachelor of Science in Fine Arts with a concentration in drawing. Amber uses drawing as a foundation for all of her artwork, which ranges from animation and illustration to ceramics and printmaking.

Mission Statement: We encourage and promote the appreciation, study, cultivation, development, and practice of art for the benefit of all the people, cultures and communities of McLean County.
