In this 2 session workshop, MCAC instructor Amber Gravett will walk you through creating your very own whimsical and humorous animal in human clothing.

Anthropomorphism is ascribing human traits to non-human objects and animals. Throughout history animals have been humanized for religious, literary, or artistic purposes. In the first workshop students will look at Egyptian imagery and religion, Greek mythology, and Contemporary art to find many different sources of inspiration. You will then handbuild your animal, real or imagined. In the second class you will focus on glazing the animal and have more time to create fun characteristics and details.

This is a great opportunity for teens and adults, beginners and advanced students, all are welcome. All materials supplied including ceramic tools, glazes, clay body and kiln use.
