Dear Artists & Attendees,
We have received a lot of emails and phone calls about our 2021 Sugar Creek Arts Festival planning. This event is a real community highlight and has been identified as one of the top 100 Arts Festivals in the nation and the Pantagraph Reader's Poll chose our festival as the Best Community Event in our region. With an estimated 20,000 people attending over two days it is a hugely anticipated part of all of our lives.
Our revised plan is to present the Sugar Creek Arts Festival three months later than we have in the past. Working with our partners at the Town of Normal we have set the date to be the second weekend in October. Our July became more problematic and August presents a host of issues with students returning to campus. With the uncertainty with vaccines distribution timelines, and our reliance on Illinois being declared in Phase Five for the covid-19 virus, we have selected this date as the best possible option for planning and attendance.
Event planning in this pandemic time has a lot of moving parts. We all must accept that some components are out of our control. Rest assured we will continue to share our decision making as we go.
Last year we created a virtual festival, https://www.sugarcreekartsfestival.org/ , and we will continue to create and support this resource. Ideally this website will serve in tandem with our in-person event.
As we know more in the coming weeks, we will share our updates. Wish us all luck! We have missed you and hope to have a much better 2021 for everyone!
The Sugar Creek Arts Festival is now rated as the 100th Best Fine Arts Festival in the United States!
We are honored to so valued by our artists.
