The McLean County Arts Center is honored to identified as a recipient organization for donations in the memory of Ashley Cara Ritter.
Miss Ritter, 38, of Normal, passed away at April 9, 2015 at her home in her mom’s arms.
Entombment will be in Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ashley’s name may be made to the Rett Syndrome Foundation, P.O. Box 706143, Cincinnati, OH 45270-6143, or the McLean County Arts Center, 601 N. East St., Bloomington.
Ashley was born on Jan. 19, 1977, in Normal, the beloved daughter of Jack and Linda Leverton Ritter. Ashley's father Jack Ritter has been very involved with the Arts Center, serving more than two terms on our Board of Directors.
Ashley was a loving presence in so many lives, living with Rett Syndrome, a neurological disorder affecting primarily girls. Her love of art inspired her parents to become avid art collectors. All forms of music and especially Cricket brought her much joy.
She attended Fairchild/Metcalf School, Sarah Raymond School, Parkside Junior High School and Normal Community West High School.
The family would like to thank her nurse, Brenda Malovolti; Digestive Disease Consultants; McLean County Neurology; Illinois Heart & Lung; Dr. Danielle Kim and her nurse, Emily; staff at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center and Advocate Home Health Services for their loving care and attention to Ashley.
